Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias, popularly known as Vozinha, has officially been unveiled as a new player of Chilean professional football club Colo Colo.
 
The charismatic 40-year-old player who participated in the just-concluded 2026 World Cup as a free agent and shone during Cape Verde’s historic run has signed an 18-month contract after reaching a verbal agreement with the club.
 
The goalkeeper, the ultimate breakout star of the 2026 FIFA World Cup who led debutants Cape Verde to a historic run at the quadrennial soccer tournament, will wear jersey number 29 at his new club.

Vozinha was also named to FIFA’s Team of the Tournament after achieving the rare feat of not losing a match during the World Cup regular time.
 
His fairytale performances at the World Cup shook social media, helped by endorsements from major digital figures like Brazilian influencer Casimiro.
 
In a related development, Cape Verde head coach Bubista has stepped down from his role after a historical World Cup campaign.
 
He’s now the new head coach at Moroccan professional club RS Berkane.
