Joshua’s Davison reunion won’t save him against Fury –Khan
Former British professional boxer and two-time unified light-welterweight world champion, Amir Khan, has declared that Anthony Joshua’s reunion with his former trainer Ben Davison will not save him when he squares up against Tyson Fury in December.
Joshua left Davison in 2024 after he was brutally knocked out by Daniel Dubois and later joined forces with Oleksandr Usyk’s for his two recent wins against Jake Paul and Kristian Prenga.
Months after knocking out Prenga, the 33-year-old boxer has changed trainers after revealing that he would be reuniting with Fury’s old trainer, Davison to keep in shape.
Khan who was renowned for possessing one of the fastest hands of his generation said that reuniting with his opponents former trainer will not count as an advantage for Joshua when he battles Fury.
“He knows Tyson Fury well, but still, a trainer, it’s not enough. A trainer can’t tell him how to fight. You might tell him the fundamentals, that’s about it, really, but a trainer really isn’t going to make a difference,” Khan told Hard Rock Bet.

“Mentally, yes. It might be like a bit of a mental advantage that AJ has got over Fury, that I’ve got your old trainer in my corner. But I don’t think it makes a difference because when you’re in that ring, everyone’s game plan changes when you get punched in the face.”
“It’s a fantastic fight for the fans. Both fighters, we know, are not the same fighters as they used to be, and they are half of what they were, maybe five years ago. But what a fight it’s going to be.” He added.
Joshua is reportedly putting in the hard work in camp with Davison monitoring training affairs as AJ prepares for the heavyweight showdown with Fury at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales with the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) super heavyweight title on the line.
Fury heads into the fight on the back of an April 2026 unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov, while Joshua rebounded from an early setback with a knockout win over Prenga three months ago ahead of the December 11 showdown in Cardiff, Wales.
