Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias popularly known as Vozinha is set to join Chilean professional football club Colo Colo on an 18-month contract after reaching a verbal agreement.

The charismatic 40-year-old player who participated at the just concluded 2026 World Cup as a free agent and shined during Cape Verde’s historic run is on his way to Santiago, the capital of Chile for his medical tests.

Recall that the goalkeeper became the ultimate breakout star of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, leading debutants Cape Verde to a historic run at the quadrennial soccer tournament.

Vozinha was also named to FIFA’s Team of the Tournament after achieving a rare feat of not losing a match during the World Cup regular time.

His fairytale performances at the World Cup shook social media as he was helped by endorsements from major digital figures like Brazilian influencer Casimiro,.

Vozinha’s Instagram following also exploded during the tournament from 50,000 to nearly 30 million followers, famously surpassing the follower counts of global sports legends like Tom Brady and Manuel Neuer.
