Mayweather vs Pacquiao II fight gets new date

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao

The much anticipated rematch between maverick American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Phillipino pugilist Manny Pacquiao is now set to take place on September 26 at a yet to be decided venue.

The fight which will be streamed on Netflix is undergoing changes following an initial, now obsolete announcement of a September 19 date after plans for the bout were reportedly adjusted.

Reports also reveal that the fight will now be staged at either the Arena or another MGM venue after it was moved away from The Sphere in Las Vegas when the owners scheduled an Eagles concert on the previous date.

The forthcoming boxing rematch which is expected to be a professional, non-exhibition match, would mark the second meeting between the two iconic fighters more than a decade after their record-breaking first clash in 2015.

Widely referred to as Mayweather-Pacquiao II, the rematch is expected to attract significant commercial interest globally as both camps are working toward finalizing arrangements for the September date.
