Mayweather, Pacquiao rematch rescheduled for early 2027
The much anticipated rematch between flamboyant American boxer Floyd Mayweather and Phillipino pugilist Manny Pacquiao has been postponed with the showdown rescheduled for early 2027.
Originally scheduled for September 2026 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, the rematch has been postponed indefinitely due to “a volatile mix of federal lawsuits, and financial gridlock” primarily surrounding the Mayweather camp.
Reports say the postponement became inevitable after events company CSI sued Mayweather to recover at least $4.65 million of the money paid to him for exclusive rights to the promotional event.

According to a statement issued by Pacquiao’s representatives, the earliest the mega-fight could potentially be rescheduled is early 2027.
“Should Mayweather and CSI settle their internal contract disputes out of court, promoters will immediately pivot to rescheduling a postponed exhibition between Mayweather and Mike Tyson, tentatively targeting 12 September,” the Pacquiao team statement said.
Manny Pacquiao Promotions CEO Jas Mathur confirmed that his client is actively looking for an alternate opponent to fight later this year due to the fact that it is impossible to immediately resolve the legalities surrounding Floyd Mayweather.
