Falconets target victory against Spain in World Cup opener
Nigeria’s U-20 Women national team coach Moses Aduku has set his sights on victory against Spain in their first match at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Monday.
The encounter is billed for 4pm Nigerian time at the Stadion Sosnowiec in Poland.
The Falconets will battle it out with the likes of China, Spain and New Caledonia in Group F.
Aduku praised the Spanish team’s quality but he has urged the players to approach the game like a final.

He said: “We are looking forward to the match against Spain with high expectations. We are ready and set to go.
“Spain is a good side, no doubt; let us not forget they are champions of the world at men’s senior level.
“However, we will approach the game like a Cup final because we want to win. The three points will put us in good stead in our group phase campaign.”
Benin Republic, Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania will be representing Africa at the tournament.
Tanzania lost their first match against Brazil on Saturday, Benin Republic played out a 2-2 draw against Mexico. Ghana suffered a 3-0 defeat to Ecuador on Sunday.
