Tearful Scaloni unsure about his future after World Cup final loss

The coach of Argentina national team Lionel Scaloni has suggested that he is unsure about his future at the helm following his team’s disappointing World Cup final loss to Spain.

Scaloni who spoke to newsmen after the game said that he will fulfill his contract as coach of Argentina until December and thereafter he will think about what to do with his career.

He said;” I deserve to take the time to decide what I’m going to do.

“I will fulfill the contract until December and then will think what to do.

Scaloni talked through his tears, adding “bear with me, I don’t know if I can continue.

“This place is wonderful, it is a dream place.

“We would never have imagined, including my staff, that we would be in this place.

“In order to continue you need a great deal of things, especially resetting your mind, rebooting, creating a group like this again. That is very difficult to create again.”

The 48-year-old former player said that it is unlikely that the group of players he coached will ever come together again and also praised Lionel Messi’s impact throughout the tournament.

Scaloni said; “It’s very unlikely a group as wonderful as this will ever come together again, and that hurts me deeply.

“What Messi did at this World Cup is incredible.

“I hope people are proud of Leo. He’s the greatest footballer to have ever stepped onto a pitch.”
