Hamburg chief delighted with Moffi signing

Claus Costa, the Sporting Director of German Bundesliga clubside Hamburg SV has expressed delight after the signing of Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi from French Ligue 1 clubside, Nice.

The club chief described Moffi who had a torrid time at Nice as a striker who is difficult to contain on the field of play due to his physicality, determination, and playing style.

He added that after extensive scouting on the player, the club is convinced that Moffi will add extra firepower to Hamburg and further enhance the versatility of the team.

“We are delighted to have secured the signing of Terem. Terem is a striker who is difficult to contain due to his physicality, determination, and playing style,” Costa told Hamburg’s official website.

“He is capable of making runs in behind the defense, has a tremendous presence in the penalty area, and possesses the necessary quality with his back to goal.

“We are convinced that Terem will add extra firepower to our game and thus further enhance the versatility of our squad. Now, the task is to integrate him quickly so that we can start the new Bundesliga season as a team with plenty of energy and confidence.”

Moffi who has already been unveiled at the club moved to the club in a deal worth €2.5 million, consisting of a €2 million fixed fee plus €500,000 in performance-related add-ons from Nice.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international striker who had interests from other clubs in Europe agreed to personal terms on a contract extending until June 2029.
