Raya shines as Arsenal defeat Sunderland to maintain unbeaten start
David Raya produced a stunning performance to help Arsenal to a hard-fought 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The Gunners showed their defensive solidity once again to keep their second consecutive clean sheet after the 1-0 win over Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The first half ended 0-0 with Sunderland making it difficult for the Gunners to find a breakthrough.
10 minutes after the restart, Ezri Konsa was penalised for fouling Dan Ballard in the box.
David Raya saved Enzo le Fee’s penalty with a superb save low to his left.
However, substitute Bruno Guimaraes broke the deadlock with a stunning effort in the 58th minute.

Bukayo Saka sealed the win after he converted from the penalty spot in the 97th minute to ensure maximum points for the Gunners.
David Raya has now kept five clean sheets in six matches in all competitions this season for Arsenal.
The victory ensured Arsenal moved three points clear of Man City on the Premier League log ahead Enzo Maresca’s men clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
Arsenal will return to action against Ipswich Town on Wednesday in the League Cup, while Sunderland will take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Wednesday.
The Gunners have now won four out of their first four Premier League games this season to maintain an 100% start.
