Brazil issues update on Neymar injury
The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has issued an update on the injury condition of Santos FC winger, Neymar Jr after he sustained a grade-two right calf strain.
Neymar suffered a partial muscle tear in his calf on May 17 while playing for Santos FC as he now faces a race against time to be fit and available for the opening match of the Brazilian national team at the World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada.
The player missed Brazil’s pre-tournament friendly wins against Panama and Egypt, and he is currently training separately from the main group on a stationary bike.

The Brazilian federation has now issued a statement on Neymar Jr conditions ahead of Brazil’s World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13 which may likely come too soon for the player.
“Neymar underwent MRI on Monday and tests showed a good evolution in his treatment — within the expected parameters”.
“He will follow the recovery preparation process planned by the medical commission of the Brazilian National Team”. The statement concluded.
