Besiktas confirm signing of Super Falcons’ Glory Ogbonna
Turkish football club, Besiktas Women has confirmed that it has secured the services of talented Super Falcons defender Glory Ogbonna from Israeli club, Kiryat Gat.
The club in a statement issued on Saturday disclosed that it has boosted its defensive department with the signing of the 27-year-old player for the upcoming season
“Beşiktaş have boosted their defensive line with the signing of their former player Glory Akumbu Ogbonna (born 25 December 1998 in Nigeria) for the upcoming season,” the club said in a statement.
This marks her second stint with the Black Eagles as she previously spent two successful years at the club anchoring their defense between 2023 and 2025.

Ogbonna represented Nigeria at FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2016 and 2018. She was also at the 2018 WAFU Women’s Cup, with Nigerian head coach, Thomas Dennerby praising her performance after the competition.
She made her debut for the senior team at the WAFU tournament, and was subsequently invited for 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers, and was selected for the main tournament.
On 16 June 2023, Ogbonna was included in the 23-player Nigerian squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 – a tournament in which she put up an appreciable overall performance.
