Madugu hints at exploring other player options ahead of S’Africa clash
The coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Justin Madugu has given the biggest hint yet that he will make changes especially in the goalkeeping department in the forthcoming play-in game against South Africa.
Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has not been her best at the 2026 WAFCON making a series of high-profile errors at the soccer tournament which has cost her team dearly.
The team has also not been strong at the back conceding six goals with unconvincing performances especially against Malawi in their first group game encounter.
Madugu who was speaking ahead of the game scheduled for Thursday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca said that there is need for an overall assessment of his team’s play.

“It’s natural that when things like this happen, we have to do an overall assessment of the team,” Madugu told ESPN in an interview.
When asked about the errors made by the Falcons especially in the defence and goalkeeping department, the coach said that he will sit with his technical crew to determine what they did well and what went wrong for the team at the WAFCON tournament.
He said; “We will review what went wrong, what we did well, where did we get it wrong.
“We have to do an overall assessment and see what we can do in the shortest possible time before the next game against South Africa.
“There’s nothing bad in exploring other players.” Madugu noted.
