Andoni Iraola

The coach of Bournemouth FC Andoni Iraola said Arsenal have finally gotten what they deserve after his team held Man City to a 1-1 draw last night at the Vitality Stadium.

Man City’s failure to secure three points against Bournemouth last night ended Arsenal’s 22-year wait for a Premier League title after the Gunners 1-0 victory over Burnley on Monday put them on the brink of glory with the title confirmed 24 hours later after Guardiola’s team shared points with the Cherries.

After his team played a part in helping Arsenal win the league after two decades, Iraola congratulated his childhood friend Mikel Arteta for doing a great job at the Emirates for the past three seasons.

“I have to congratulate Mikel and also Arsenal, and Kepa [Arrizabalaga] who was here with us last season,” the Spaniard told reporters (via The Standard).

“I am very happy for them, I think they have done such a special job in the past seasons and it was a little bit unfair they were always there, close, but I think finally they have what they deserve.

“I am very happy from that side and we were really trying to get Europe and focusing on Bournemouth, but now I think also we have to congratulate Mikel and all of his team.”

With the result, Bournemouth have also secured their place in Europe for next season having alll but cement their spot on sixth in the table after the draw.
