Wolves cancel training after Arokodare’s disagreement with coach
English Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers were forced to cancel a training session on Tuesday in preparation for the new soccer season after Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare and new club coach Cesar Peixoto were involved in a disagreement.
Arokodare’s relationship with the club reached its lowest point when he reportedly refused to leave the Compton Park training pitch after Wolves’ coaching staff instructed him not to train with the first team.
His refusal to exit the expansive facility ground when the coach axed him from first-team training forced club officials to cancel the entire first-team training session, bringing scheduled preparations to a complete halt.
What earlier began as a transfer disagreement over the player’s preference for a move to Italian club Fiorentina over signing for Turkish side, Trabzonspor has now snowballed into a disciplinary crisis.

Coach Cesar Peixoto seemingly not tolerating ‘player power’ & poor discipline levels demanded additional security was involved at the training ground on Wednesday to ensure Arokodare stayed away from the training ground.
The striker will also not be included in the squad for today’s trip to Maidenhead United with these moves aimed at the striker to force him into accepting a move away from the club.
Arokodare’s time at Molineux has been turbulent. In the 2025/26 Premier League season, he managed six goals in 38 appearances as Wolves struggled and were ultimately relegated.
The club’s poor campaign culminated in relegation confirmation in April 2026, prompting managerial changes and a squad overhaul ahead of life in the EFL Championship.
