Why Dalic was not satisfied with Croatia’s 1-0 win over Panama
The coach of the Croatia, Zlatko Dalic has declared that he is less impressed by his team’s performance despite a 1-0 win against Group L opponents, Panama.
Luka Modric 200th cap for his national team was a victorious one after Ante Budimir’s goal secured a 1-0 win over Panama in a highly competitive game played at the Toronto Stadium.
Dalic who was speaking during a post match press conference said that he was frustrated by his team’s effort as Panama dominated portions of the first half, and nearly took the lead in the 23rd minute of the game.

“They were really under a lot of pressure and each and every ball was in the possession of the opponent and many other balls as well that really destroyed us,” Dalic said after his team eliminated Panama from Group L contention.
“And we didn’t manage to overcome this initially, and this is why I was a little bit angry, and I reacted to this.”
The 1-0 win over Panama keeps Croatia’s hope of remaining in the tournament alive with a crunch game against Ghana coming up on Saturday, June 27, in Philadelphia.
Panama which has mathematically been eliminated from the 2026 World Cup following two losses will play their final group stage match against England on the same day at MetLife Stadium.
