Ghana frustrate England to goalless draw
The Black Stars of Ghana produced a stunning performance to hold England to a goalless draw in their second match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night.
Ghana earned a valuable point against England in addition to their 1-0 win over Panama in their first match, as they boost their chances of qualifying for the next round.
England manager Thomas Tuchel made two changes to the side that defeated Croatia 4-2, with Nico O’Reilly and John Stones replaced by Marc Guehi and Djed Spence.
Declan Rice shrugged off an injury concern to take his place in the midfield alongside Jude Bellingham and Elliot Anderson.
Harry Kane led the line while Noni Madueke and Anthony Gordon provided support for him in attack.
Ghana opted for a 5-4-1 formation, with Thomas Partey returning to the line up alongside Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams who also started the encounter.
The Black Stars produced a battling performance to frustrate the Three Lions in the encounter.

O’Reilly’s header in the 87th minute hit the cross bar before Kane’s rebound went agonisingly high as England piled pressure on Ghana.
Both sides failed to break the deadlock as the encounter ended goalless.
Ghana now have four points from two games same as England ahead of their last group matches on Saturday.
The Black Stars will face Croatia while England will take on Panama.
