‘Once I sniff blood, he’s gone’ –Dubois warns Wardley ahead of WBO rematch
British boxer Daniel Dubois has warned his compatriot Fabio Wardley not to be complacent ahead of their WBO heavyweight rematch on Saturday, October 17, at the 02 Arena in London, England.
Dubois will attempt to defend the WBO World Heavyweight Championship belt he won in May, 2026, by an 11th-round stoppage in Manchester, after Wardley recently activated a rematch clause.
During Thursday’s final press conference ahead of the rematch Wardley looked visibly drawn with Dubois’ camp claiming he will lose again because he returned too quickly from his last injuries he sustained.
Dubois also sounded a not of warning to Wardley saying; “Once I sniff blood, he’s gone.”

However, Wardley vowed to exploit any weakness displayed by his opponent while Dubois- fresh off admitting he plays the harp- remains the betting favourite to win the boxing showdown.
Recall that in the first fight between the two boxers, Dubois defeated Wardley via an 11th-round TKO in a brutal, back-and-forth bout that is widely considered a contender for Fight of the Year.
Boxing fans are now anticipating another brutal clash tomorrow night between Dubois and Wardley at the 02 Arena in London, UK.
Records:
Dubois: 23 fights, 3 losses and 22 KOs
Wardley: 20 fights, 1 loss, 1 draw and 19 KOs
