Nwabali unfazed by Super Eagles return
Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has declared that he is not bothered about competition in the Super Eagles squad but is focused on giving his all for his South African club, Chippa United.
Nwabali who has lost his spot in the team to Maduka Okoye said while speaking with the media in South Africa that he feels good returning back to the club after her initially terminated his deal in search of a new club which never materialised.
The goalkeeper who returned to Chippa United on a free agent basis five months after he mutually parted ways with the club in February 2026 to pursue a failed international transfer said he is focused on helping his club pick as many points as possible in the new season.
“I feel positive coming back to the club, not just for me but also for the team. The relationship and the agreement is all good. I just want the team to succeed this season,” Nwabali told sabcsport.

“I’m not really worried about that one (Super Eagles return), I’m only focused on helping my club pick up as many points as possible. So for now I’m not too worried about the National team.”
Recall that the player’s moves to prospective clubs overseas fell through due to stalled negotiations leaving him without competitive club football for nearly five months.
Nwabali who earned his first senior cap for Nigeria in a 2021 international friendly match against Mexico later accepted an offer to return to the “Chilli Boys” ahead of the 2026/27 season to get regular playing time and revive his career.
