Neymar makes Brazil’s World Cup squad as Pedro misses out
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has named Neymar Junior in his 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Ancelotti made the announcement on Monday night with Neymar making the list to represent his country at the tournament.
The Santos star has been battling with injuries and inconsistent performances and he was on the verge of missing out before Ancelotti handed him a shock call-up.
He had missed all the 10 matches under the Italian manager since he took over last year.
Neymar, who is Brazil’s leading goalscorer with 79 goals from 128 caps, has previously represented the Seleção at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments.

Ancelotti dropped Chelsea star João Pedro while the likes of Endrick, Gabriel Martinelli, Igor Thiago made the list.
Brazil will slug it out with Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in Group C.
They will open their campaign against Morocco on June 13 before taking on Haiti four days later and they will end the first round against Scotland on June 24.
