Femi Azeez shines as Nigeria defeat Zimbabwe to reach Unity Cup final

Millwall winger Femi Azeez scored a brace to lead Nigeria to a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in the semi-final of the 2026 Unity Cup at the Valley Stadium in London on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old produced a match-winning performance to book Nigeria’s place in the final of the tourney.

Eric Chelle handed Arthur Okonkwo his Super Eagles debut from the start while Terem Moffi captained the team.

Azeez opened the scoring with a powerful effort from outside the box in the fourth minute to give Nigeria an early lead in the encounter.

He added the second goal with a clinical finish in the box in the second half to mark his debut with two impressive goals.

The Super Eagles held on to seal a vital win that propelled them into the final, where they will face the winner between India and Jamaica on Saturday.

Femi Azeez played a key role for Millwall in the English Championship last season as they narrowly missed out of promotion to the Premier League after losing 2-0 to Hull City in the playoff semi-final.

He was named in the Championship team of the season after recording 11 goals and eight assists for Millwall.
