Enugu Rangers to begin NPFL title defence against Katsina Utd
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) defending champions Enugu Rangers will open the 2026-27 campaign with a home clash against Katsina United after the draws were announced on Friday.
The Flying Antelopes will welcome Katsina United to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on August 30, 2026 as they target a 10th title.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu-led side won the 2025-26 NPFL title on the last day of the season following a 2-1 win over Ikorodu City to beat Rivers United to the title by one point.
Rivers United will take on Plateau United at home on the opening weekend.

Shooting Stars, who finished third last season, will face newly-promoted Inter Lagos in the South-West derby at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on August 28, 2026.
Lagos-based Ikorodu City will welcome Ranchers Bees of Kaduna in their first game of the season at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Sporting Lagos will take on Doma United, and Enyimba will make a trip to Minna to face Niger Tornadoes.
There will be three Lagos teams in the NPFL in the 2026-27 season as the trio of Inter Lagos, Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City aim to impress.
No Lagos-based club has won the NPFL title since Julius Berger’s triumph in 2000.
