Dolphins open WBPL season with win over First Deep Water
Dolphins recorded a 59-46 win over First Deep Water to begin their 2026 Women’s Basketball Premier League title defence on an impressive note on Sunday.
The defending champions brushed aside First Deep Water despite enduring a poor start, losing the first quarter 17-13.
However, they fought back strongly in the second quarter with a 34-25 win going into the break.
Dolphins continued their dominance with another 43-33 win in the third quarter before ending the encounter with a 59-46 victory.

In the other Atlantic Conference clash, Victoria Queens defeated IGP Queens 69-39 in their first-ever game in the league.
The Atlantic Conference will run until August 22, while the Savannah Conference, taking place at the Basketball Arena, Rayfield, Jos, will end its first phase on Monday, August 24.
Meanwhile, the Savannah Conference will tip off on Tuesday with Air Warriors taking on Kada Angels in the first game of the day.
Dolphins defeated MFM in the final of the 2025 edition to end the reign of Olukoya girls, who won the title back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.
