Chukwueze shines as AC Milan defeat Man Utd in final pre-season match
Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze produced a stunning performance to lead AC Milan to a 4-2 win over Manchester United at the Tarczyński Arena in Poland on Saturday.
Chukwueze scored one and recorded two assists to continue his fine form for AC Milan in pre-season.
It was the last pre-season match for both teams but the Italian giants earned a stunning victory under their Ruben Amorim, who was sacked as Manchester United’s coach in January.
Harry Maguire opened the scoring for the Red Devils with a well-placed header in the second minute.
Chukwueze restored parity for AC Milan with a tap-in eight minutes before the break.
Patrick Dorgu restored Manchester United’s lead in the 51st minute before Chukwueze set up Alphadjo Cisse for AC Milan’s equaliser six minutes later.
Chukwueze assisted Goncalo Ramos to make it 3-2 in the 68th minute before Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a fine individual goal to give AC Milan a 4-2 lead.
Chukwueze spent last season on loan at Fulham but he is expected to play a key role for AC Milan this season under Ruben Amorim.

Amorim reserved special praises for his players following the impressive win over Manchester United.
He said: “I have huge respect and affection for Manchester United. It is a massive club, the supporters are incredible and I will always appreciate the time I spent there. But today was simply a football match, and our responsibility was to come here, impose our ideas and compete. I think we did that very well.
“Manchester United have fantastic players and I still believe they will achieve great things. But, honestly, today they didn’t look like the team I coached. They were too open, there were spaces everywhere and at times they looked unfocused. We recognised those weaknesses and we knew exactly where we could hurt them.
“When we went 1-0 down so early, it could have affected us, but the players stayed calm. We suffered, followed the plan and gradually took control of the game.
“Gonçalo Ramos, Loftus-Cheek and the rest of the players were excellent. Everyone understood their assignment and executed it. That is what pleased me most.
“I wish Manchester United the best. Hopefully, the next time we meet, they give us a much tougher game. Today, though, AC Milan deserved the victory.”
AC Milan will face Torino in their first Serie A match of the season next Sunday.
It was a disappointing end to pre-season for Manchester United as they prepare for their first match of the season against Hull City next Saturday.
