Brighton chief delighted with signing of Femi Azeez

Mike Cave, the Sporting Director of English Premier League club, Brighton and Hove Albion is delighted with the signing of Super Eagles winger, Femi Azeez from Championship club, Millwall FC.

Brighton secured the services of the player after reaching an agreement with Millwall to sign 25 year old for an initial £12.5 million fee in a package exceeding £15 million for a 4+1 year contract.

While reacting to the development  Cave said that the club is looking forward to working with the player who had an excellent season playing for Millwall last season.

“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad,” Cave said.

“He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs.

“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer, and we now look forward to working with him.”

Azeez who was recently handed his maiden mational yeam call up at the Unity Cup by coach Eric Chelle were he shone was named in the 2026 PFA Championship Team of the Year.
 
The electric winger recorded 11 goals and 7 assists as Millwall reached the Championship play-off semi-finals last season.

Azeez also emerged as the highest rated player in the Championship last season with a score of 7.32 also expressed clear excitement and a strong desire to make the step up to the Premier League by pushing for the move.

The player insisted on the move to Brighton after Millwall rejected multiple bids, and later officially informing the club of his desire to join the Premier League side.
