Allianz Arena to host 2028 Champions League final
Bayern Munich’s Stadium Allianz Arena will host the 2028 Champions League final, European football’s governing body confirmed on Tuesday.
The stadium hosted the competition’s final in 2005 and 2012, where they lost to Chelsea via penalty shootout.
Barcelona’s stadium Spotify Camp Nou will host the 2029 Champions League final for the first time since hosting it in 1999, when Manchester United defeated Bayern Munich to win the trophy.
After over two years playing away from their home stadium, Barça returned to Camp Nou last November, but work is still ongoing.
The capacity is currently capped at 62,000, with the third tier yet to be completed and the roof still to be put on.
Barcelona estimate that the stadium, which will eventually hold 105,000 fans, will be finished towards the end of 2027 — or at the latest by 2028.
This season’s Champions League final will be played at Atlético Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium.

Meanwhile, the 2028 and 2029 UEFA Europa League finals will be played at the National Arena in Bucharest and the National Stadium Serbia in Belgrade.
The UEFA Conference League showpieces in the same years will take place at Juventus Stadium in Turin and the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
The 2027 UEFA Super Cup will be played at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam and the 2028 edition will be hosted by the Astana Arena in Astana.
