Okoye named Udinese Player of the Season after brilliant campaign
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been named Udinese’s Most Valuable Player of the Season following an outstanding campaign with the top-flight Serie A club.
The Nigerian international earned the prestigious recognition after delivering a string of consistent and impressive performances for the Zebras throughout the season.
Okoye endured a difficult start to the campaign after missing the opening two months due to a suspension linked to an alleged match-fixing investigation.

Despite the setback, the 26-year-old made a strong return and successfully reclaimed the club’s number one goalkeeper position.
The former Watford FC goalkeeper finished the season with 10 clean sheets in 29 Serie A appearances, playing a crucial role in Udinese’s campaign with his commanding presence, sharp reflexes and composure between the sticks.
His impressive performances have also seen him shortlisted for the Serie A Player of the Month award for May, further highlighting his growing impact in the Italian League.
