The 2025-26 Italian Serie A season ended on Sunday with Inter Milan winning the title for the second time in three seasons under Christian Chivu.
Chivu was appointed in the summer after Simeone Inzaghi left the club to join Al Hilal in the Saudi Arabia League.
He led the team to the title with three games to spare and they finished the season with 11 points clear of second-placed Napoli.
Chivu also guided the team to the Coppa Italia trophy following a 2-0 win over Lazio in the final for their first domestic double in 16 years.
The last time they won a domestic double was under Jose Mourinho in 2010, where they ended the season as treble winners, a squad that Chivu was part of.
Inter Milan enjoyed a dominance season in the Serie A with 87 points, earning 27 wins, six draws and five defeats. It was their 21st Serie A league title.
They ended the season with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Bologna after begining the season with a 5-0 win over Torino.
2025 Champions Napoli finished second with 76 points, winning 23 matches, drawing seven and losing eight under Antonio Conte.
AS Roma ended the season in third with 73 points while winning 23 matches, drawing four and losing 11 under Gias Gasperini.
Surprise package Como qualified for the Champions League in their second season after gaining promotion, they finished fourth with 71 points with a total of 20 wins, 11 draws and seven draws.
The Cesc Fabregas-club booked their place in Europe’s Premier Club competition for the first time in their history following a stunning season after ending the season with a 4-1 win over Cremonese.
AC Milan endured a disappointing season after a 2-1 defeat to Cagliari forced them to miss out of the Champions League qualification.

The 2026–27 Serie A season will officially kick off on the weekend of August 23, 2026, and run until May 30, 2027.

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez won the top scorer award with 17 goals, while his teammate Federico Dimarco finished top of the assists stat with 16.

Fiorentina’s Marin Pongračić was booked 12 times which was the highest in the league in terms of yellow cards while Parma’s Mariano Troilo won the most red cards with two.
