Morocco will deliver great performance against Brazil –Hakimi
Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi says hus Morocco side will deliver a great performance in the team’s first Group C match against Brazil which will be played tonight at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
Hakimi who made the declaration while speaking to the media ahead of the much anticipated encounter disclosed that the Moroccan nation team is well prepared for the blockbuster match against the Samba boys even without talisman Neymar.
He further stated that the national team of Morocco has trained and prepared well for the game against Brazil and confidence is sky high that the squad will deliver a great performance.
Hakimi said; “I think everyone knows the Brazilian national team, we know Vinicius’ qualities. I’ve already played against him many times and he’s a great player. To defend against Vinicius and the other Brazilian players, who are all top-level, you have to defend as a team, with clear ideas,” Hakimi told a press conference.

“I believe that we have trained and prepared for this kind of match. I think the team is ready. Personally, I feel ready and I have the confidence needed to play a great match and deliver a great performance.”
Meanwhile, Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that 34-year-old Neymar will miss Brazil’s opening game of the World Cup against Morocco on Saturday.
He said that Neymar has been struggling with a calf injury and is yet to return to full training but there is hope that he will recover and rejoin the group next week.
“The expectation is that he will recover and rejoin the group next week. When we call up Neymar, we call him not only for his technical quality, which is indisputable, but also for his experience and the example he can set for the young players in this group.” Ancelotti said.
