Madueke strike secures three points for Arsenal against Forest
Reigning English Premier League (EPL) champions Arsenal secured a late victory against Nottingham Forest tutored by Oliver Glasner at the City Ground on Sunday, with Noni Madueke scoring the decisive goal.
Despite dominating control of the game with roughly 73% possession compared to Forest’s 27%, Arsenal found it pretty difficult in the first half to breakdown the defence line of the home team which had scores of their teeming fans charging them on.
The steely nature of the home team’s defence line forced Mikel Arteta to ring changes in the second half with Noni Madueke replacing Eberechi Eze, followed by a triple substitution in the 66th minute bringing on Jurrien Timber, Victor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino.

The substitution made by Arteta in the second half paid off in the 80th minute when Noni Madueke found the back of the net with a deflected strike to secure all three points for the Gunners away from home.
Despite absorbing immense pressure in the game, Forest managed 12 shots on the counterattack forcing David Raya into 2 saves to keep Arsenal’s clean sheet intact and moved them into second place in the EPL table, three points behind Manchester City.
Forest will play their next EPL game away at the Portman Road Stadium against Ipswich Town on Thursday October 23, while Arsenal will play Everton on Saturday October 24 at the Emirates Stadium.
