Jesus pens emotional message to Arsenal fans on sealing Barca move
Versatile Brazilian winger Gabriel Jesus has taken to his official social media platform to pen an emotional message to Arsenal fans after sealing a shocking move to Spanish club, FC Barcelona.
Jesus who signed for Hansi Flick’s side for a fee in the region of €14 million with a 20% sell on clause said that he is leaving as a champion and a true Gooner who gave everything for the success of the club.
The former Manchester City player stated that he is glad to be one of those who restored a winning mentality at the club which finished second for three consecutive seasons and has started winning major trophies again.
In his message shared on Instagram, Jesus said that Arsenal will always be home to him because he came to the club from Manchester City at a difficult moment in his career when his place in his former team was no longer guaranteed.
“I’m leaving as a champion and as a true Gooner who gave everything for the success of this club. We fought hard, raised the standards and built a foundation for the next generation. Now, it’s their challenge to take Arsenal even further.
“I could write an entire book about everything we achieved here. We helped bring Arsenal back to where this club belongs. We restored the winning mentality, started competing for major trophies and believed again—even when we finished second. Today, Arsenal’s story is different.

“Arsenal will always be home to me. I came here at a difficult moment in my career at Manchester City, when my place in the team was no longer guaranteed. There were times I was fit but still wasn’t playing.
“Then Arsenal changed my story.
“Mikel Arteta believed in me, gave me the opportunity to play football again and showed me something special. I will always be grateful for that.
“To every Arsenal fan, thank you. I wish you nothing but the best. I will forever be a Gooner.

Barcelona secured the services of the 29-year-old Brazilian forward for a bargain fee of €10 million (£8.6 million) initial fee, plus an additional €4 million in performance-related add-ons. Jesus has signed a contract keeping him at the Spotify Camp Nou until June 2029.
