Former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins has told those who care to listen that he was faster than Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Thierry Henry in his prime.
The former Inter Milan player who made the comments on the Obi One podcast said that none of the players he mentioned could sprint past defenders the way he did when he was still active.
“I was faster than Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé and Henry in my prime. I’ll say it again: in my prime, I was faster than all of them. I’ve said it before, and none of them said anything,” he said.

The 41-year-old who started his senior career in 2002 disclosed that Arsenal and Liverpool made moves to sign him but both clubs didn’t want to pay the amount Inter Milan demanded at the time.
“At the time that I played, I’d choose Serie A over the Premier League. The premier league got better with time. Liverpool and Arsenal wanted to sign me but didn’t want to pay what Inter Milan asked for. Arsène Wenger wasn’t ready to spend.”
Martins who made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2004 at the age of 19 stated that if Victor Osimhen should leave Galatasaray in the future he should consider moving to Barcelona which is a good fit for his style of play.
“I think Victor Osimhen is going to struggle if he goes to Arsenal. Chelsea is also a bad fit for him. I’d prefer him to go to Barcelona; it would be easier for him, and he would score a lot of goals,” he said.
