Iwobi on target as Fulham earn first win of season
Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi scored his first goal of the season to lead Fulham to a 1-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.
It was Iwobi’s first goal of the season to help Fulham also to their first win of the season in the Premier League this season.
The Cottagers failed to win in their first six games of the season before Iwobi came to their rescue with a sublime goal in the 33rd minute after the break.
Another Super Eagles star, Calvin Bassey was also in action in the encounter, playing the whole duration.
Iwobi has also created 17 chances in the Premier League this season to further establish his importance to Fulham.
The victory was a relief for Alvaro Arbeloa, who had ensured a tough start to life in England.
The Spanish coach was delighted to finally end the wait for his first win in the Premier League.

Arbeloa said: “I’m so proud of my players because they played with great personality and great character. We scored one goal, and we continued attacking in the second half.
“I’m so happy for our supporters – they deserve this victory, this win for my players. It’s not easy for players when you are working hard, when you are doing what your coach is asking you, and you don’t win games.
“It’s not easy to keep doing the same things, keep working, keep trying to improve.
“And my players believe in our ideas, and they play in the way that we are playing, even when we were losing games.”
Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton in 2023 and he has gone on to make 104 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals.
He has been an ever-present player for the Super Eagles with 10 goals in 101 appearances for Nigeria.
Iwobi will be hoping to continue his goal-scoring form when Fulham take on Coventry City at the CBS Arena next Saturday.
