France, Mexico advance to World Cup round of 16 with big wins

France and Mexico have both advanced to the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after they both defeated their last-32 opponents on Wednesday.
While France thrashed Sweden 3-0 to scale through, thanks to a brace by Kylian Mbappe, Mexico clinched a 2-0 victory over Sweden.
