Falconets to play Spain, China, New Caledonia in U-20 World Cup
The Falconets of Nigeria has been pitched against Spain, China and New Caledonia in Group F ahead of the forthcoming 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup set to staged in Poland.
The group opponents of the U-20 Women’s national team of Nigeria tutored by Moses Aduku was made known following the official draw for the football tournament conducted on Friday in Łódź, Poland.
The Nigerian team qualified for the competition scheduled to run from September 5 to 27, 2026, after successfully scaling through African qualifying series in which they overcame Malawi in a two-legged affair.

The Falconets of Nigeria secured a 3-2 aggregate win over Malawi following a 2-0 win at home in Ikenne, Osun state, before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat away to the Malawi’s in the capital of Lilongwe.
The U-20 team is now poised for intensive preparations ahead of the tournament which will be hosted across several Polish cities, including: Bielsko-Biała, Łódź, Katowice, and Sosnowiec.
The Falconets, who are two-time finalists in the history of the competition will be aiming to get to the latter stages of the competition but they will have to navigate through a tough group with tournament favorites Spain and serious challengers, China, waiting in the wings.
