English Premier League (EPL) club Manchester United and Serie A side Atalanta have both completed all documents for the signing of Brazilian midfielder Éderson José dos Santos Lourenço da Silva, simply known by many as Éderson.

The player who is yet to have a medical, has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United since May with reports saying the transfer should be completed in early July before United’s return to pre-season training begins.

The combative midfielder who has three international caps, was named in Brazil’s 55-man expanded World Cup squad but he unfortunately missed out on manager Carlo Ancelotti’s final selection.

In a related development, United are reportedly preparing a £70–80 million bid for Sandro Tonali, who has emerged as a key midfield target for club owners, INEOS.

Newcastle are expected to demand at least £100 million, but United are not likely to match that valuation and could test their resolve with an opening offer instead.

Reports say Tonali clearly wants out of Newcastle, and his only route to that is at a Premier League rival. The Italian’s agent made admiring glances towards Arsenal in January, and it might be that the Emirates or Old Trafford becomes his likeliest destination.

Having sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona FC, Newcastle are now in a strong position financially as they might not need to sell but might need Tonali to force the issue to get his move.
