The female national team of Comoros aka the Coelacanths dismissed their Sudanese counterparts 13-0 in the first round second leg of the qualifiers for the 2028 women’s football event at the Olympic Games.

Comoros showed no mercy against Sudan in the two-legged encounter with the first leg ending 17-0 thus sealing qualification 30-0 on aggregate with the team now advancing to the second round of the qualifiers.

The Super Falcons (Africa’s most successful female team) are now waiting in the wings ahead of the second round of the qualifiers against Comoros scheduled to take place between October 5 and October 13, 2026.

The development comes after the Super Falcons defeated the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal 3-0 in the second of their two international friendly games played at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, with the first leg ending 2-1 in favour of Nigeria.

The Falcons’ dominance was further underlined in the 66th minute when Captain Rasheedat Ajibade went on a surging run and laid on an assist for substitute Asisat Oshoala, who had replaced Omewa, to slot home and make it 3-0.
