Manchester City have piled more pressure on Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title as they thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

With a game in hand, City are now six points behind leaders Arsenal, who were stunned 2-1 by Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side had been sloppy during the first half, but went on to score three goals in the second half and condemned their hosts to yet another defeat.

Chelsea have now picked up a third straight league defeat, and they remain sixth on the table.

Nico O’Reilly headed in his fifth goal of season at start of second half to put City ahead.

Marc Guehi doubled visitors’ lead to keep the pace before Jeremy Doku added the third goal to seal the rout.

The Premier League title race is set to heat up as City host Arsenal at Etihad Stadium next Sunday in a huge game at the top of the table.

In the other Premier League games played on Sunday, Sunderland pipped Tottenham Hotspur 1-0; Crystal Palace defeated Newcastle United 2-1, while Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa drew 1-1.
