Arsenal star Rice tips Kane to win 2026 Ballon d’Or award
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has backed his national team teammate Harry Kane to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or award on Monday.
Kane was on target in Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The England forward has enjoyed a glittering year for club and country, scoring 73 goals and recording eight assists for club and country in the 2025-26 season.
He has also scored eight goals and four assists in all competitions for Bayern Munich this season so far.
Rice believes that Kane’s numbers are enough to speak for him, tipping him to emerge as the winner of the award next week.
He said: “For me, Harry is the clear winner of the Ballon d’Or 2026.

“His numbers speak for themselves. For a striker to play that pass for their first goal then take the penalty how he did… he’s ridiculous, he’s such a good player, insane.
“His numbers speak for themselves. The year he’s had has been remarkable. He’s obviously up against some other world-class players but when you play with him, you realise how good he is and when you play against him, you see how much of a pain it is.”
Kane led Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal Cup last season and also guided England to a third place finish at the World Cup in North America.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or awards will take place in London on Monday, the first time it is been held outside Paris.
Michael Owen was the last English player to win the award in 2001.
