Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has opened up on importance of the friendly clash against Poland despite the team failing to qualify for the World Cup.

Nigeria will battle it out with Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium, Warsaw on Wednesday night.

Eric Chelle’s side are expected to be without the services of attacking duo Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, who pulled out due to personal reasons.

Ndidi revealed that the match was a good test for the Super Eagles, to test their development against a top European side.

He said: “Of course it’s about winning, but development also counts. A match against such a top rival as Poland will be a good test for our vision for the future.”

The Super Eagles defeated Poland 1-0 thanks to a solitary goal from Victor Moses the last time both teams met in Wrocław in March 2018.
