Super Eagles arrive Lisbon for Portugal friendly
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived Lisbon for the scheduled friendly game against the Portuguese national team set to take place next week Wednesday.
The team’s arrival in Lisbon was made known in a post shared on microblogging platform, X (formerly Twitter) by the media officer, Promise Efoghe.
He disclosed that no fewer than 19 players made the trip for the game with Alex Iwobi and Genk defender Christian Akpan joining the team in Lisbon.
According to him, AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is expected to join the team today (Friday) after burying his mother while Pisa striker Rafiu Durosinmi was excused to attend to personal matters.
The Super Eagles played out a 2-2 draw with Poland in entertaining draw at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday.

Terem Moffi who led the attack for the Eagles continued his impressive form in recent games for the team with the opener in the 23rd minute, finishing calmly after he was teed up by Moses Simon.
On the stroke of halftime, Poland found their way back into the game through Kacper Potulski with a close range finish to end the first half 1-1.
After piling waves of pressure on the opponent, the Super Eagles took the lead again when Paul Onuachu converted from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute following a handball by a Polish defender.
However, the game ended with a final twist when Wiśniewski scored a stunning long-range shot in the 95th minute with the last kick of the match to rescue Poland from defeat as the game ended 2-2.
The game between Nigeria and Portugal will be the second time both teams will square up on the international level. In the first encounter, Portugal beat Nigeria 4-0 in a friendly encounter played in Lisbon in 2022.
