Rohr disappointed Benin players didn’t get photos with Messi at farewell game
Gernot Rohr, the head coach of Benin Republic national team has criticised the way his team were treated by Argentina during the farewell match organised for Lionel Messi accusing the hosts of giving his players nothing.
The French-German tactician who was speaking as a guest on the Rothen s’enflamme radio program on RMC, said that his team faced tight restrictions at the Estadio Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires following Argentina’s 3-0 victory.
According to Rohr, despite attempts to exchange shirts with the Argentine players, Benin players were left empty-handed as they were denied the chance to take photographs with Lionel Messi.

Rohr said; “Yes, it was extremely difficult. We tried.
“The only shame is that the Argentines gave us nothing. No photo with Messi, no shirt. They didn’t even let us into the tunnel, nor even the dressing room,” he said.
Further reports say Benin players were also not given any bonus payment, no share of the revenue generated and were not allowed to enter Argentina’s dressing room after the farewell match for Lionel Messi.
