Portugal FA confirms Ronaldo return date
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has confirmed that striker Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the national team fold during the November international break.
This was disclosed by FPF President Pedro Proença who said that the football federation, the coach and the players are all aligned with the idea of the player’s return.
“The Federation, the coach, all the teammates are aligned: we want Cristiano back. I expect him back already during the November international break,” says Proença.
“Cristiano is also willing to return. He’s the best of all time,” he added.
The announcement comes after Ronaldo was provisionally suspended by Portuguese Federation for leaving Portugal’s training camp in the most recent international break.

According to reports, Ronaldo left camp following a disagreement with national team head coach Jorge Jesus over his role within the squad.
Ronaldo was provisionally suspended by the FPF for his action and the player also suggested that he be punished in a public statement after he apologised for leaving Portugal’s camp.
“The initiation of disciplinary proceedings against Cristiano Ronaldo, by deliberation of the Non-Professional Section, of October 9, 2026, with the purpose of the investigation of any disciplinary relevance of the facts participated on October 7”.
“Without prejudice to the automatic preventive suspension to which he was subject until the date of establishment, the non-automatic preventive suspension of the player was determined and the urgent nature was attributed to the process”. The FPF said in a statement.
The provisional suspension means the final outcome of the disciplinary process has yet to confirmed, and Ronaldo’s availability for November will ultimately depend on the resolution of those proceedings.
