Mourinho delighted with Real Madrid thrashing of Málaga
Real Madrid recorded a 4-0 win over Málaga on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday to maintain their perfect start to the 2026-27 La Liga season.
The Jose Mourinho-led side have now won their first three games of the season, scoring 10 goals and conceding two.
The trio of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham have shown in the opening weeks, contributing seven goals amongst them.
Bellingham opened the scoring with a sublime individual goal in the 19th minute after dribbling three Málaga players before finishing past Malaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero.
The English midfielder was also involved in the second goal when his header bounced off Malaga goalkeeper for an own goal in the 26th minute.
Kylian Mbappe finished off Trent Alexander-Arnold’s assist to make it 3-0 in the 30th minute.

Arda Guler put the icing on the cake with a tap-in after an excellent work from Vinicius Junior to seal a comfortable win for Real Madrid.
Jose Mourinho was delighted with the team’s first half performance in the encounter.
He said: “We played a very strong first half, from a team that didn’t want to waste time and came on to settle the game. The second half has been more managed, with a lower pace. Málaga had more time and more calmness to have the ball but every time we accelerated we created danger. The feeling was that we could score more goals.
“As a team our objective was to keep a clean sheet, to work well defensively. It is not always possible to attack with a lot of intensity, the opponent sometimes comes out and you have to know how to be compact, balance, defend well, and we have done it well. They are three important points.”
The win was enough to send Real Madrid to the top of the log with nine points and 10 goals, Barcelona have the opportunity to catch up when they play Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.
Real Madrid will take on Real Betis on Friday at the Villamarin Stadium.
