Frank Lampard, the coach of newly promoted English Championship side Coventry, has hailed the incredible humility and work ethic of Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka.

The Chelsea legend who made the comments while highlighting the role played by the midfielder in the club’s promotion to the Premier League said that Onyeka’s profile fits his team.

Lampard, who was speaking during an interview with talkSPORT, stated that Onyeka, who has scored once and provided one assist in 14 games, has given Coventry everything.

He said, “Frank has been brilliant. He was a profile of a player we needed in that moment and he’s come in and given us everything we need, which has really helped the balance of our midfield with what Grimesy does and how whoever plays in that 10 plays.”

The former England international also praised the work ethic and humility of the on-loan Brentford player who has 43 caps under his belt playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

“The other thing he (Onyeka) has offered is an incredible humility and work ethic,” added Lampard.

“He’s come in and just breezed into the squad and the dressing room, and he’s come down from the Premier League as an international player, and he is so humble.

“I love that, and it’s good for some of our players to see what that looks like.”
