I’ll be in charge of Liverpool next season —Slot
Liverpool coach Arne Slot has expressed confidence that he will be in charge of the team next season following a disappointing season.
Slot has been tipped to lose his job after disappointing performances which has seen them lose 18 matches in all competitions
The Reds spent a record £450 million on new players last summer, but the team has struggled for form this season which has put Slot under pressure.
Liverpool supporters booed Slot and his players after another poor performance in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday.
However, Slot believes he will be in charge of the team next season despite a disappointing season.
He said: “I don’t think I am deciding that alone but I have every reason to believe I am the Liverpool manager next season.
“First of all I am contracted to the club and second of all from all the talks we are having. That is my take on it.
“I think the world has gone to where if a manager or a club doesn’t have the best season, there is always a debate. That is all around the world, not only at Liverpool. That is the new reality in football.

“It is not up to me to judge the people who judge me. They have every right to have their opinion.”
The Dutch manager also confirmed that he has discussed next season’s transfer plans with the club’s board.
Slot said: “We know where we go on tour. Plans have been made and talks have been ongoing with the club for new players and I am involved in that.”
Liverpool will take on Aston Villa on Friday at the Villa Park, a win will be enough to seal their place in the Champions League next season.
Slot confirmed that Salah will be back in action against Aston Villa.
He concluded: “Konate is OK, trained with us. Salah is available for a few minutes but hopefully can come in.
“Alisson, trained with us, let’s see where he is. Wirtz – stomach infection so let’s see how fit he is. He is on antibiotics.
After winning the Premier League title by 10 points last season, Liverpool are set to finish this campaign with at least 19 fewer points after suffering 11 defeats in 36 matches.
