Michael Carrick has revealed that Lisandro Martinez has realised his mistake after his double outburst against Manchester United board in which he publicly criticised the club’s summer transfer business.

The former player and head coach of Manchester United who was speaking to reporters on Friday ahead of his team’s next EPL fixture also disclosed that Martinez will be available to play Leeds United on Sunday.

During a question and answer session, the coach sought to downplay Martínez’s outburst by declaring that the team has moved on from the episode and are focused on their next game which will be played in two days.

“We’ve moved on from that. It was one of those things. It’s really not a drama for the group,” Carrick said.

“The squad have trained really well and they are in good spirits. There is a freshness about the group…

“He’s part of the squad (for Sunday).” He added.

According to Carrick, it was nice that the Argentina international player realised and acknowledged his mistake after the outburst which is good enough from the club’s point of view.

“No drama. The case is closed,” he noted.

Carrick has won just one of seven games this season, and has lost three of the past five outings as coach of Manchester United also stressed that the club needs to start getting results on the pitch of play.

“The squad today in training was in a fantastic place, one of the best sessions since I’m here.

“I don’t need results. We all need results. It’s not about me.

“Manchester United is bigger than an individual, so please, I don’t go into every day thinking about me.

“It’s not about any individual player; it’s about this football club and its history.” He said.
