Why Ederson’s €45m move to Man United collapsed
The proposed €45 million deal by Manchester United to sign talented Brazilian midfielder Éderson José dos Santos Lourenço da Silva, simply known by many as Éderson has unfortunately collapsed.
The player had already agreed personal terms with Manchester United since May with reports stating that the transfer should be completed before United’s return to pre-season training begins.
However, the deal has reportedly collapsed after Manchester United subjected the player (who has three international caps for Brazil) to two fitness tests with results not meeting the expectations of the club.
Also the Premier League club feared that a knee issue—which the Brazilian managed with pain injections at the World Cup—could have long-term implications.

Atalanta believe Éderson is 100% fit and are willing to welcome the midfielder back as part of their squad, after Manchester United changed their plans due to player’s fitness level.
Reports say the club’s concern about Ederson’s fitness forced Manchester United to accelerate the signing of his Brazilian compatriot Andrey Santos from Chelsea.
The club coached by Michael Carrick has also reportedly re-entered the market and opened fresh talks to rival Liverpool for Wolves’ £38 million-rated midfielder João Gomes.
