We can win anywhere – Remo boss Abd’Allah boasts ahead Insurance clash

Remo Stars boss

Remo Stars coach Usman Abd’Allah is confident that the club will survive relegation on the last day of the season after spending the whole campaign in the bottom half.

The defending champions have been involved in relegation dogfight all through the season after winning their first-ever NPFL Title last season under Daniel Ogunmodede.

The Sky Blue Stars earned a vital 2-1 win over Bayelsa United in Ikenne last weekend to boost their chances of surviving relegation with one game to go.

The victory moved them up to 16th on the log ahead of their last game of the season against Bendel Insurance in Benin on Sunday.

Abd’Allah believes the team is capable of beating Bendel Insurance to seal their NPFL status.

He said: “We have been doing well away from home. In our last 11 matches since I took charge of the team, we have scored in each of them,” Abd’Allah told the club’s media.

“Even in the games that we lost, we scored as well. My team can score any where, against any team.

“We have to work very hard to score because we have to win. We need nothing less than a win. We can’t be written off.By the grace of God, we will go there, get the three points and escape relegation.”

He also praised the players for earning an important win over Bayelsa United in their last home game of the season.

Abd’Allah concluded: “It was what we expected, a difficult game against a team fighting against relegation. They have 40 points before the game, a win would have seen them move to 43 points like us, ” added the former Super Eagles assistant coach.

“They scored first, and we equalised. Thank God we were able to score the winning goal, and win the game.”

Abd’Allah replaced Daniel Ogunmodede in February as Remo Stars coach following the team’s poor performances in the league.
