Vinicius Jr elated over Neymar return to Brazil squad
Talented Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jnr. has taken time out to publicly emphasize Neymar’s irreplaceable importance to Brazil 2026 World Cup campaign.
Vinicious who was speaking to newsmen after Brazil’s 3-0 win over Scotland described Neymar as his idol and also asserted that having the best players on the pitch is vital for their World Cup run.
Neymar made an emotional return to the pitch in the game against Scotland coming off the bench for his fourth World Cup campaign of his career.
“A very important moment for all of us,” Vinicius said of Neymar’s return in Portuguese.

He also acknowledged the difficulty Neymar faced recovering from his calf injury, expressing relief and excitement that their “idol” is back to guide the team.
“Our idol is back, a guy who always fought hard and did everything to be here, returning after a spell out with injury. I hope he can keep evolving and keep improving, helping us throughout the competition. That’s what matters most.”
Brazil’s next game at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is against Asian powerhouse Japan in the Round of 32 on Monday, June 29, 2026.
