Simon proud to make historic 100th appearance for Super Eagles
Super Eagles star Moses Simon has expressed his delight at the opportunity to make his 100th appearance for the team in the 2-1 win over Madagascar on Friday.
The Paris FC winger came off the bench in the encounter at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo for the historic appearance.
At the end of the game, Simon was presented with a special frame which has a Super Eagles jersey with his name and 100 on the back.
The 31-year-old expressed gratitude to all the coaches that gave him an opportunity to represent Nigeria.
Simon said: “First of all I would like to say thanks to the coach for the opportunity, thanks to every coach that gave me this opportunity and also thanks to you all the journalists.

“Of course, this gave me joy and it’s a great privilege to play for the Super Eagles, it’s a dream come true, I never believe I will be there, I never believe I will play 100 games but I just believe one thing whenever I’m called up I will be there to give my 100 percent.”
Simon attributed the secret of his longevity in the Super Eagles to his family, friends and supporters.
He said: ”The secret to my 100 caps is my family my friends, Nigerians, journalists because when I see the passion you journalists have for football I’m ready to give everything.”
Simon made his debut for Nigeria in March 2015 against Uganda under Daniel Amokachi, he came off the bench to replace Anthony Ujah in the 59th minute.
He has scored 12 goals in 100 appearances for Nigeria, he has represented Nigeria at four Nations Cup tournaments in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025.
